Abstract Scope |
Photocatalytic method has advantages of high efficiency and recyclability in wastewater treatment. Carbon nitride (g-C3N4) has attracted much attention as an efficient photocatalytic material due to its unique properties. While still faces the disadvantage of small specific surface area and high photogenic carrier recombination rate. In this work, the photocatalytic performance of g-C3N4 was improved by stripping layered g-C3N4 particles with NH4Cl. The conditions for effective synthesis of g-C3N4 and degradation to harmful azo dye Congo Red processes were optimized. In addition, the effects of g-C3N4 on the removal rates of CR and chroma in simulated wastewater were evaluated. The results showed that for 100 mg/L CR solution, using 0.6 g/L catalyst for photocatalytic degradation, the removal rate reached 95% after 2 h of light irradiation, and showed excellent recycling performance. This work can provide a new solution to the practical application of photocatalyst for the degradation of dye pollutants. |
