Abstract Scope |
In high temperature metallurgical processes, metal & oxide coexist, and the many kinds of phenomena occurs at their interfaces. Thus, the efficient processes are achieved by figuring these phenomena out. The visualization of these phenomena is one of the essential research approaches in order to realize a great deal of understanding for the phenomena. Therefore, our group has recently concentrated our efforts on the visualization of the interfacial phenomena between metal and oxide at high temperature. The in-situ observation of the growth of bubbles in the foaming caused by liquid Fe-C and molten slag, and the sintering of alumina particle to alumina plate in a liquid metal has been accomplished, which leads to the deep understanding of interfacial phenomena occurs under steelmaking process. |
