| Abstract Scope |
Information about dendrometrics characteristics of the trees are importance in the stages of processing and also in respect to the adequacy of determined species for different uses. The objective was to determine the diameter, the volume of each log, the amount of bark, the relation heartwood/sapwood and the circularity index in trees of Pau brasilian echinata Lam.proceeding from reforestation and with ages from 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years old located in the – Espirito Santo State - Brazil. The results had shown an increase of the diameter breast height with the age. The increment in total height of the trees only occurs until the twenty years old. The percentage of bark tends to reduce with the increase of the age. The circularity index of the trunk was considered satisfactory. The trees with thirty years presented content of heartwood and to the others ages there was predominance of sapwood. |
