Abstract Scope |
Brazil stands out as one of the world's largest producers of ornamental rocks, however, they generate a considerable amount of waste, which represents an environmental challenge. The objective of this work was to use waste from the Preto São Gabriel rock processing process in varying proportions, for the production of artificial agglomerated rocks bound by epoxy resin, using the vacuum vibro-thermo compression process. The technological properties were evaluated according to ABNT 15844:2015 and ASTM C615. The flexural strength of these rocks presented superior results established by Brazilian and American standards. The apparent density, porosity and water absorption were compatible with literature studies and can be applied in civil construction. We can conclude that the incorporation of rock waste in the production of artificial agglomerated rocks contributes to sustainability, circular economy, in addition to generating employment and income. |
