Abstract Scope |
As the proportion of iron ore pellets in comprehensive blast furnace burden increasing, ratio of magnesium/aluminum in which tends to fall. To improve magnesium oxide content in iron ore pellets, effect of three different magnesian fluxes on properties of the pellets was investigated. Results showed that addition of magnesian flux 1 and flux 2 had little effect on green pellets, while shatter strength of green pellets with adding magnesian flux 3 decreased to a certain extent, which may be related to presence of calcium oxide in it. After adding magnesian flux, compressive strength of the pellets showed a decreasing trend, with magnesian flux 2 having the greatest impact. Adding magnesian flux was beneficial to decreasing reduction swelling index and increasing degree of reduction of the pellets, and there was more significant effect with the basicity of the pellets increasing as well. |
