Abstract Scope |
In this study, an investigation is carried out applying the thiocyanate-thiourea system, for the extraction of copper present in the tailings of the region of Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico. Metallurgical mining waste is known for its environmental impact, but it also contains base metals of economic interest, such as copper (Cu).
Prior to the leaching process, the sample was characterized by XRD, SEM-EDS, FRX and ICP techniques to determine the mineralogy present and the elemental content of Cu. The parameters analyzed were [Thiocyanate] and [Thiourea]. After a reaction time of 60 minutes, a maximum dissolution of 97.63% was obtained. |
