    | Abstract Scope |

From fusion and fission reactors to combustion- and steam-turbine generators, process control remains a central and cross-cutting challenge for successful deployment of advanced power generation technologies. The focus of this presentation will be on efforts to demonstrate scalable pathways for dilute and concentrated refractory multi-principal-element alloys designed for operation in extreme environments, including hydrogen-combustion electrical generators, fusion plasma containment chambers, and liquid-metal and molten salt fission reactors. Specifically, strategies for controlling and mitigating the deleterious effects of high-solubility non-metal species like oxygen and carbon, which are embrittling, will be discussed. |
