Abstract Scope |
Based on the high volatile content of biomass, gasification mainly occurs in the first 10 min, and unmatched with the reduction of iron ore, this study proposed a new method to enhance the reduction of iron ore by biogas circulation. The effect of biogas circulation on the reduction effect was mainly investigated, and compared with conventional reduction, the biogas circulation resulted in a higher reduction efficiency, increased the concentration of the reducing atmosphere, and altered the kinetic conditions of ore reduction. After 10 minutes, the metallization rate of iron ore increased from 82.01% to 94.81% under the condition of 30 minutes of biogas circulation. This study provides a good example of efficient utilization of biomass energy and reduction of carbon emissions in the DRI process. |
