Abstract Scope |
Color alloys with their own unique colors while emphasizing the intrinsic texture of the metal are being researched, it was developed to overcome the drawback of surface treatments from surrounding environment. In order to improve the mechanical properties and expand the color range of transition energy-controlled color alloys dominated by Cu-based solid solution alloy systems, alloy design with alloying elements and additional processes are required.
In this study, the transition energy-controlled color alloys, specifically Cu-Ni alloys improved the characteristics by adding Cr as an alloying element that induces phase separation with Cu. This alloy design increased the strength and corrosion resistance while expanding the color range based on the juxtaposition method. Additionally, we aim to modulate the deformation behavior and microstructural evolution by performing the rolling and annealing processes. Therefore, the optical and mechanical properties are controlled by investigating the correlation between the reflectivity and microstructure of the color alloy. |
