| Abstract Scope |
Impact testing machine for in-situ observation on the beam line in SPring-8 has been developed to investigate high-speed deformation and fracture in metals. As initial-stage of the development, a multi-directionally forged titanium was applied for in-situ X-ray observation. Observations of dynamic fracture and load measurement in every 2 micro-seconds succeeded in very small specimens. Difference of behaviors in the specimen cut-direction was clearly observed in recorded images. Combining investigation of microstructure in the materials with such the difference, deformation and fracture mechanism will be discussed. |
