Abstract Scope |
This paper presents the design and development of a metal LPBF system tailored for in-situ characterization at two facilities: a synchrotron facility, focusing on high-resolution process analysis, as well as a lab-scale x-ray source offering more accessible experiments. A systems engineering approach, stringent requirements, and interface management are employed to enhance in-situ characterization capabilities and create a stable system for prolonged experimental activity that functions in the two environments. Preliminary results demonstrate the system’s potential for detailed material study and real-time process optimization, supported by an array of process sensors. |
