Abstract Scope |
We aim to develop a cost-effective plastic-coconut fiber composite for residential roof sheathing, addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development. Our focus is on creating an energy-efficient manufacturing process suitable for developing countries. Our project aligns with the circular economy principles, emphasizing local industry growth and reducing plastic waste.
Our approach involves blending shredded Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) with coconut fiber, followed by controlled melting and compression. The resulting composite exhibits favorable mechanical properties suitable for roofing applications, with excellent thermal and acoustic insulation characteristics for green construction.
Through our research, we provide a sustainable and economically viable alternative for green construction materials, contributing to international development and advancing materials science knowledge. This work showcases the transformative potential of materials science in addressing global challenges and fostering economic growth in developing regions. We eagerly anticipate sharing our findings and engaging in meaningful discussions at the symposium. |
