Abstract Scope |
Over the last decade, we had the opportunity to study several different steels with reverted or retained interlath austenite. In this talk, an overview will be provided regarding the mechanical effects of the interlath austenite network, through case studies that focus on medium-Mn steels, quench and partitioning (QP) steels, quench and tempered martensitic steels, and others. In-situ tests and post-mortem analyses will be presented in an integrated manner, to unravel the impacts of interlath austenite on quasi-static tensile properties, fatigue properties, hydrogen embrittlement resistance. Future design opportunities will be also be discussed. |
