Abstract Scope |
Environmental effects on the mechanical properties of AISI 316LSi produced via Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) will be reported for samples obtained from different orientations. Large-scale deposits (10” x 7” x 2.5”) of AISI 316LSi were prepared in collaboration with Lincoln Electric Additive Solutions using their WAAM robot cell. The effects of 0.6M NaCl on the Fatigue Crack Growth and Slow Strain Rate Tension behaviors of as deposited and sensitized samples will be reported. The changes in mechanical properties will be presented along with SEM fractography and metallography to illustrate the effects of processing conditions (Heat Input and Interpass Temperature) and environment on the mechanical behavior. |
