Abstract Scope |
Sinter-based additive manufacturing (AM) technologies have gained increasing attention due to their high productivity and cost-effectiveness compared to powder bed fusion methods. This presentation reviews the research progress in sinter-based AM of titanium, including methods such as binder-jetting, lithography-based metal manufacturing, mold slurry deposition, and cold metal fusion. We present the evaluation results of defects in the green and sintered parts manufactured by these techniques using micro-CT. Additionally, we discuss a novel technique called Hydrogen Sintering and Phase Transformation (HSPT) for sintering titanium parts fabricated through these prototyping techniques. This study ties the advancements in titanium sintering to broader topics of advanced powder processing, highlighting its potential applications in producing high-performance structural and functional materials. |
