Abstract Scope |
Despite the development of various additive manufacturing (AM) techniques, there is still a lack of available AM methods that meet the demands for high-resolution multi-material 3D structures. Most of the multi-material printing research is performed using the same type of materials (ex. polymer & polymer, metal & metal, ceramic & ceramic) failing to address applications that require two distinct material properties, such as metal & polymer. In this talk, I will discuss our research on advanced-stereolithography (SLA) via multiphoton-reduction. We use ultrafast lasers to direct laser write 3D metal-dielectric nanocomposite structures of tunable dimensions ranging from hundreds of nanometers to micrometers. Examples of direct-laser-written high-quality silver single-crystals, 2D and 3D metal structures are presented followed by examples of direct laser written structures for optics and electronics applications. |
