Abstract Scope |
Various methods exist for welding workpieces, with electron beam welding (EBW) being among them. Deep penetration with narrow heat affected zone, control over the total heat input and being in vacuum environment make EBW process unique.In aerospace, different materials are used for specific purposes. Welding of two distinct materials provides flexibility for design stages and offers an opportunity to decrease the overall cost of the workpiece. Investigations on microstructure and mechanical properties of welded components plays an critical role to verify the process. Objective of this article is to provide microstructural and mechanical informations regarding the case of welding between Niobium C103-Ti6Al4V and Inconel 718-Stainless steel 304L with process development stages. |
