Abstract Scope |
The objective of this work is to quantify the effect of part geometry and support structure in the thermal history of laser powder bed fusion processed-parts. In this work, a variety of parts with differing geometry and support structures were produced on the open architecture laser powder bed fusion platform at Edison Welding Institute (EWI). During the printing process surface temperature measurements were acquired using a thermal camera. In this work we correlate the build quality as a function of the temperature and part design. |
