Abstract Scope |
The converter mixed blowing CO2 steelmaking process leverage CO2's reactive cooling, weaker oxidative properties, bubble proliferation, etc. to realize the reduction of dust and improve the quality of steel, significantly benefiting the iron and steel industry’ environmental efforts. This paper investigates the impact of CO2 blowing on steel material consumption, steel composition, slag composition, and dust quantity using a mixed blowing CO2 smelting process in a 100t converter of an iron and steel company. The test results show that blowing CO2 steelmaking to replace the current technique is feasible and provides obvious advantages. Blowing 0.42m3/tCO2 reduces steel material consumption by 0.6kg/t, the end of the carbon and oxygen product of molten steel reduces by 0.7×10-4, the molten steel nitrogen content reduces by over 2ppm, the iron oxide content in slag is reduced by over 0.6%, and the amount of dust reduced by more than 5%. |
