Abstract Scope |
In recent years, Up-conversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) have gained attention for their luminescent properties and applications in sensing. UCNPs convert low-energy photons (e.g., near-infrared light) into higher-energy photons (e.g., visible, or ultraviolet light), enabling the detection of normally invisible NIR light by cameras. This work aims to develop efficient UCNPs incorporating Yb, Er, and Ce for better emission and robustness under light exposure. The NaYF4 (18% Yb, 2% Er) UCNPs were synthesized by sol-gel method followed by thermal treatment with a size range between 5-20 nm. All prominent XRD Peaks belong to NaYF4 with a Hexagonal crystal structure signifying the formation of a phase pure β- NaYF4 structure. The emission was observed at 543 nm and 655 nm majorly and some intermediate emissions around 580 nm and 610 nm in fluorescence spectra. Further, we will evaluate the material properties under varying wavelengths of light exposure. |
