Abstract Scope |
Both stress state and pores play a role in the fracture behavior of additively manufactured metallic materials. This talk will describe our approach for studying how pores combined with a range of stress state impact the failure behavior of laser powder bed fusion (PBF-LB) fabricated stainless steel 316 and Ti-6Al-4V. This understanding will provide a pathway for designing against failure under realistic multiaxial conditions for samples with internal defects. Additionally, the ability for harnessing in situ processing signals toward the prediction of properties will be described. |
