Abstract Scope |
Magnetic ZnFe2O4 (ZFO) was synthesized by reactive flash sintering, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed the FCC structure of spinel ferrite within the ZFO samples. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was employed to observe the material morphology, and the magnetic property of the Flash sintered ZFO was compared with that of conventionally prepared ZFO using Vibrating Sample Magnetometry (VSM). Flash-sintered ZFO exhibited a saturation magnetization (MS) and magnetic coercivity (HC) higher than that of conventionally sintered ZFO. This enhancement in magnetic properties was attributed to the spin ordering of cations in particle cores. The decrease in MS was due to surface shell spin fluctuations. Increasing the domain size decreased the domain wall area, resulting in decreased spin fluctuations on the surface and an increase in MS. Hence, the magnetic behavior of flash-sintered ZFO is affected by the electric field applied during flash sintering, which modifies the spin arrangement and domain wall motion. |
