Abstract Scope |
In this study, based CrFeNiCu high entropy alloy developed by adding 3, 5, 7 and 10 at% of Al and Ti to enhance mechanical properties of the HEAs. Low valence electron concentration elements Al and Ti were selected as minor alloying elements. The (CrFeNiCu)100-x(Al, Ti)x HEA ingots were prepared by vacuum arc melting under high purity argon atmosphere. The crystal structure dual face centered cubic (FCC) phase changed to the mixture of FCC and body centered cubic (BCC) phases observed while increasing atomic percent of Al and Ti content as a minor element. As a result of reducing volume fraction of FCC phase and increase BCC phase, plasticity decreased, and yield strength increased. Mechanical properties of quaternary CrFeNiCu HEA presented 291 MPa engineering strength with no fracture plasticity. By adding minor Al and Ti content engineering strength enhanced up to 971 and 1511 MPa, plasticity decreased 36.2 and 24.09% respectively. |
