Abstract Scope |
This study explores the differences in activation energy at 5 K/min and >300 K/min heating rate conditions for pure titanium, titanium copper blended elementals, and titanium copper core-shell particles made using vibration-assisted high-power impulse magnetron sputtering. We sintered die-pressed samples at temperatures that allowed eutectic and eutectoid phases and times within the early stages of sintering. We measured the density of the sintered samples through the Archimedes method and estimated the free energy with Arrhenius plots. In addition, we used focused ion beam, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy to study grain growth and phase formation in the sintered samples. |
