Abstract Scope |
The textile industry is one of the most polluting sectors in the world, contributing to a complex and abundant post-consumer waste stream. With technological advancement in modern orthopedic medicine, several composite materials have been used in this area. Given the lack of scientific studies, the objective of this research is to recover different types of fabrics and test their viability and resistance for use in orthopedic prostheses. For this purpose, a tensile test was carried out on textile scraps, based on the ABNT NBR ISO 13934-1 standard. In this work, the resistance of different fabrics can be observed, as well as their viability and use in composites. |
