Abstract Scope |
Artificial rocks are composed of a matrix and a dispersed phase of hard particles. Typically, polymers are used in their matrix and waste from the ornamental stone industry as particulate. The properties of polymeric materials are directly influenced by their structure. When used as a matrix for the development of composite materials, it is possible to influence the final properties by controlling the properties of the matrix. Therefore, the present work aims to study the impact of changing the hardener content used on the properties of artificial rocks. The plates were produced using a vibration and compaction system using a vacuum. Using 15% mass of epoxy resin depending on the mass of granite waste used. The formulation with 10, 15 and 20% hardener were evaluated. Flexural strength was improved using 20% and compression showed better results using 15%. |
