Abstract Scope |
The present work focuses on the effect of the incorporation of different weight percentages (0%, 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5% and 0.7%) of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) on the tensile, flexural and dielectric responses of coconut fibre-based polymer composites. The coconut fibre-based polymer composites are prepared by the in-house hand layup technique. The uniaxial tensile test as per ASTM D-3039 standards in UTM, 5967 is used to obtain the elastic constants of the prepared composites. The flexural behaviour of the prepared composites is investigated through the three-point bending test as per ASTM-D 790-03 standards. The fibre and different weight percentages of MWCNTs dispersion in the matrix and their morphology are investigated through scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results of this study may lead to the emergence of novel materials that are environmentally friendly and highly effective, supporting the global movement towards sustainable engineering applications. |
