Abstract Scope |
One of the most common problems in industrial processes is the loss of energy in the form of heat. In the search to recover this type of thermal energy, thermoelectric modules represent a promising alternative because they allow converting this heat into electrical energy, making it more efficient industrial processes. This article presents the laboratory and industrial tests characterization of low-cost thermoelectric modules for the manufacture of a thermoelectric generator for the recovery of low-temperature residual heat. The modules were evaluated at the laboratory level in different configurations, distances from the source and dissipation systems to find the best recovery conditions. The manufactured thermoelectric generator was tested for low temperature heat recovery in an industrial drying oven. The results obtained both at the laboratory and industrial level were compared showing which modules and configurations had the best power generation capacity for this type of industrial process. |
