Abstract Scope |
Today’s alloy design demands high-throughput screening of the vast compositional and temperature space to identify plausible transformation pathways leading to desired microstructures with targeted properties. Thus, this work aims to illustrate the use of the CALPHAD method to develop novel microstructures of multi-phase compositionally complex alloys for various advanced applications. In particular, with a series of high-throughput CALPHAD screening assessments, we demonstrate the selection of design criteria based on different thermodynamic and physical properties to obtain desirable multi-phase microstructures via various phase transformation pathway engineering for (i) low-cost Ni base disk alloys and (ii) refractory alloys with high temperature BCC solid solution stability. |
