Abstract Scope |
Tooth development is a complex, multi-step process that begins with the thickening of epithelium and the condensation of mesenchymal cells. This is followed by the formation of dental buds and dental papilla. The development of dentin and enamel both initiates within the organic matrix. Atomic force microscopy nanomechanical testing was used to compare structural variations between late bell stage teeth and erupted teeth. These results hold significant potential to enhance our fundamental understanding of tooth morphogenesis in mammals. |
