Abstract Scope |
In this presentation, we compare the fatigue properties of different AlSi10Mg brackets that were elaborated within GE jet engine bracket challenge with different life prediction methods. In particular the attention was paid to fatigue life prediction obtained by fracture-based analyses using the ProFACE software. The analyses focused on the comparison of methods and how the data from X-ray microCT scans of the brackets could be integrated in the model to obtain realistic life predictions. The results show that 'defect-acceptance' maps obtained by ProFACE software could be a simple tool for post-processing XCT data of printed parts to obtain a rapid qualification of parts manufactured by L-PBF. The analyses in particular will show how defect acceptance criteria are dependent on the sizing error of the NDI indications. |
