Abstract Scope |
Magneto-elastic based materials have gained attention in recent years due to their potential in various applications, particularly in the area of sensing and energy harvesting devices.
On one hand, magneto-elastic platforms have been widely used as systems for detecting external agents. These sensing capabilities are based on the shift of the magneto-elastic resonance frequency when a specific target is attached to the surface of the material. In that sense, the optimization of the magneto-elastic platform properties plays a crucial role in the development of high sensitivity devices.
On the other hand, the coupling between magneto-elastic and piezo-electric materials results in the fabrication of magneto-electric laminated composites. These laminates are capable of inducing an electric response under the application of an external magnetic field, a property that can be used for both magnetic field sensing and energy harvesting purposes. |
