Abstract Scope |
This study compares the fatigue performance of composite materials for high-performance bicycles using different types of fibers with epoxy and 3D resins. Natural ramie fibers are investigated as a sustainable alternative to traditional synthetic fibers (kevlar, glass and carbon), evaluating their mechanical properties and potential for application in bicycles. The research analyzes the fatigue resistance of the composites under cyclical conditions, simulating their use in bicycles. The characterization of the ramie fibers, including tensile and density tests, will make it possible to select the fibers with the greatest resistance for the production of environmentally friendly composites. The results will be compared with synthetic fiber composites, providing data for the manufacture of lighter, stronger and more sustainable bicycles. |
