Abstract Scope |
Two methods for determining the activation energy of the intermetallic formation reaction are considered: a theoretical calculation method based on the results of thermodynamic analysis of SHS reactions, and an experimental method based on the study of the kinetics of intermetallic phase formation. As a result of thermodynamic calculations, it was found that the activation energies for Ni-Al and Ti-Al systems are ~ 45 kJ/mol and ~ 82 kJ/mol, respectively. Based on the experimental method of studying the kinetics of the interaction of intermetallic alloys under thermochemical pressing conditions, analytical equations of temperature-time dependences of intermetallic formation in Ni-Al and Ti-Al systems and their activation energies are obtained. It is established that experimental studies confirm the theoretical calculations (relative error does not exceed 5%). |
