Abstract Scope |
The phase-filed method has facilitated the accurate simulation of dendrite growth. However, the lack of material properties remains a major issue in phase-field simulations. Data assimilation is a promising approach to infer material properties by incorporating experimental observations into numerical simulations. In this study, we developed a data assimilation system coupled with phase-field method, which can simultaneously infer material properties and reconstruct dendrite morphology, for polycrystalline equiaxed dendrite growth. To verify the developed system, we performed twin experiments for polycrystalline systems prepared by phase-field simulations. The series of simulations in this study were accelerated using a GPU supercomputer. This study ultimately aims to integrate in-situ X-ray observations with phase-field simulations. |
