Abstract Scope |
This study elucidated the formation of approximately 1-μm precipitate layers of Al18Mg3Cr2 and Al6(Cu, Fe) during the ultrasonic welding of 316L steel and 7075 aluminum alloy. These precipitate layers formed at interfacial temperatures exceeding 470°C, occurring at approximately 1-2 um away from the steel/Al interface. The continuous formation of these layers was attributed to localized melting, which led to strength saturation of the weld at 2.75 kN. |
