Abstract Scope |
The search for lightweight and resistant materials is driving the high-performance bicycle industry. This study compared the torque resistance of polymer composites reinforced with different fibers, using natural ramie fiber as the main object of analysis. Composites with ramie, carbon, kevlar and glass fibers were evaluated using pure epoxy resin and 3D printing resins. The results showed that ramie fiber has potential for application in bicycles, exhibiting mechanical properties comparable to synthetic fibers. In addition, ramie fiber offers advantages in terms of cost-effectiveness and sustainability, making it a promising alternative in the search for innovative materials. It is concluded that the use of ramie fiber composites can contribute to the development of lighter, more efficient high-performance bicycles with less environmental impact. |
