Abstract Scope |
Nanostructured materials with high-density interfaces have demonstrated superior stability under extreme conditions, such as irradiation. The interface structure often determines material behavior in metallic nanostructures. Recently, the structural and chemical ordering at the grain boundaries and interfaces have attracted intense attention as they have demonstrated a new avenue to design materials for desired properties. In this study, we employ Cu/Nb as a model system to systematically investigate the structural and chemical short-range ordering of the designed three-dimensional (3D) interfaces by atomistic simulation. The correlation of the atomic-level structure and the stability under irradiation will be discussed. |
