Abstract Scope |
The main objective of this study was to find out optimum milling conditions of CoCrFeNiAlx (x=0.2 x=0.6, x=1, x=1.5 mol) high entropy alloy powders by mechanical alloying and characterize powders in terms of phases by x-ray diffraction techniques and scanning electron microscopy.
The powders were prepared with a 10:1 ball-to-powder ratio to ensure the optimum grinding condition. The mechanical alloying process was then carried out with 2-4-6 and 8 hours of grinding at 800 rpm for all system. Powders prepared at optimum milling conditions will be reinforced with the varying amount of boron carbide (B4C) will be subjected to spark plasma sintering process at different temperature and constant time and pressure. Final product will be characterized in terms of microstructural point of view, phases and mechanical properties (hardness, corrosion behaviour etc). |
