Abstract Scope |
The corrosion performance of mild steel in 1M HCl solution was examined by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, potentiodynamic polarization, open circuit potential, and weight loss study in the absence and presence of agricultural waste. Potentiodynamic polarization measurements indicated that the studied inhibitor acts as a mixed-type inhibitor due to its adsorption on the metal surface, exhibiting inhibition efficiency greater than 95%. The surface morphology investigation confirmed that the adsorption of waste molecules occurred via physical adsorption following Langmuir’s adsorption isotherm. The results obtained from different techniques are in good agreement. |
