Presentation Title Optimization of process technology for preparing Bayan Obo pellets by grate rotary kiln

Abstract Scope Pellet strength is the key index of pellet quality. Grate rotary kiln is a typical process of pellet production, which has large production capacity and stable product quality. The preheating and roasting system of Bayan Obo ore pellets was optimized, and the effect of strength and pulverization rate was clarified, and the phase transformation mechanism of metal iron oxide during preheating and roasting was revealed. The results show that under the conditions of blast drying temperature 220℃, exhaust drying temperature 330 ℃, preheating section I temperature 750℃, preheating section II temperature 1025℃ and total drying preheating time 21min, the compressive strength of preheating pellets is 656N, the pulverization rate is 2.84%, and the oxidation degree is above 0.8. Under the condition of roasting temperature of 1250℃ and roasting time of 27min, the compressive strength of pellets reached more than 2000N.
