Abstract Scope |
Selective laser melting (SLM) is a dynamically developing Additive Manufacturing technology widely used as an alternative manufacturing technique for complex and customized products. The article presents the concepts of obtaining different parts by SLM like: soft magnetic cores and machines elements. Selective Laser Melting process was applied to assess the effect of printing parameters on the structure and properties of iron and copper based alloys. Powders obtained during gas atomization was sieved and examined by scanning electron microscope (SEM),The size distribution of the powder particles was measured. The work presents research on the selection of process parameters based on porosity measurements, static tensile tests, and hardness measurements. The microstructure and shear strength of the key elements are studied. The cross section of the samples ware examined using scanning electron microscope (SEM) with an energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and an wavelength-dispersive spectroscopy (WDS) modules. |
