Abstract Scope Developing molten salt nuclear reactors requires knowing the thermodynamics of the molten salts used both as fuels and heat exchangers and thermodynamics of small amounts of fission products dissolved tin these molten salts. Direct calorimetric studies of heats of mixing in model molten salts at 800 oC are providing such data, which will be discussed for systems containing NaCl, KCl, CsCl and trivalent halide including UCl3.
