Abstract Scope |
Uniaxial tension and tension-compression (T-C) tests on DP980, DP1180, AA6XXX-T4, and AA6XXX-T81 were used to determine optimum values of seven parameters of the Yoshida-Uemori (Y-U) model. Strain captured using stereo Digital Image Correlation produced data files containing interpolated positions, and normal and shear strains spaced 0.25 mm apart along specimen centerline. The forward bounding stress was fitted to a Voce model using the T-C data. The parameter C, which controls kinematic hardening rate, was obtained from the original Y-U backstress model. The reverse bounding curve was determined by extrapolating the reverse true stress-plastic strain curve from its saturation point as line e-j in the Y-U model. The difference between stresses for the d-e segment and those for the e-j segment was plotted against reverse plastic strain to determine C by a best fit. The value of h=0.5, a mixture of kinematic and isotropic hardening, was recommended from a literature review. |
