Abstract Scope |
The research aimed to investigate the development of fusion-bonded epoxy coatings (FBE) on steel components to improve their UV and corrosion resistance performance. The study includes the preparation of the FBE coatings with various compositions and thicknesses, in addition to having a sol-gel coating layer to support and improve the performance. Following by testing their mechanical and chemical properties through adhesion, impact, and salt spray tests. Moreover, we monitor the FBE coatings in three dimensions via Profilometer, and the results show that the FBE coatings improved the UV and corrosion resistance of the steel components significantly. The study concludes that FBE coatings can be an effective solution to protect steel components from semi-harsh environmental conditions, contributing to the development of durable and sustainable infrastructure. |
