Abstract Scope |
This study investigates the effect of heat treatment time on the fatigue life of 304 stainless steel corrugated pipes. Specimens in the as-received condition and after heat treatment for 16 and 38 minutes were evaluated. To evaluate the effect of heat treatment time, phase fraction analysis using electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD), hardness test, and rotating bending fatigue test were performed. As the heat treatment time increased, a decrease in the martensite fraction and a corresponding reduction in hardness were observed. The fatigue life was highest in the as-received condition, tended to decrease with heat treatment. Nevertheless, among the heat-treated specimens, those treated for 38 minutes exhibited a longer fatigue life compared to those treated for 16 minutes. |
