Abstract Scope |
This study investigated the micromechanical behavior of additive manufactured multi-layer samples having alternating layers of hard CoCrNi and soft CoCrNi2 medium-entropy alloys (MEAs), subsets of the Cantor high-entropy alloy. The multi-layered MEAs fabricated using laser powder bed fusion were examined using macro- and micro-scale digital image correlation (DIC). The findings highlighted the intricate interplay between local and global deformation. This relationship was further explored through nanoindentation experiments conducted on each layer before and after hydrogen charging, providing comprehensive insights into how hydrogen can modulate the relation in the multi-layered MEAs. |
