Abstract Scope Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADMSCs) are widely recognized as a highly efficient type of adult stem cells. These cells have the potential to differentiate into various cell types, such as osteocytes and adipocytes etc. Several approaches can be employed to differentiate these cells, but the utilization of nanoparticles stands out as highly effective approach for producing differentiated cells. Thus, we attempted to use graphene oxide nano-sheets embedded gold nanoparticles for this purpose. Firstly, we prepared graphene oxide nano-sheet as a base material for carrying Au nanoparticles that have the property to bind with the peptides (RGD and TGF-β). Secondly, we co-cultured ADMSCs with these nanomaterials for the desired proliferation and differentiation of ADMSCs. During co-culturing, we observed that these nanomaterials significantly enhanced the proliferation as well as the adipocytes, osteogenic and chondrocytes differentiation of ADMSCs. Conclusively, these nanomaterials have shown great promise in advancing the proliferation and differentiation of ADMSCs.
