Abstract Scope |
Especially if subject to significant bending, DP steels and other high strength materials may exhibit sudden fracture on the material surface, without prior destabilization of the blank. In order to achieve predictive simulations the fracture limits of the material must be identified and input correctly into the model. The latter is, however not an easy task. Many different experiments have been proposed for this purpose which however also deliver strong variations in the measured limits. Furthermore given the strong locality of fracture phenomena, evaluation of experiments is also still not standardized. The paper aims to explore this topic and provide recommendations for an industrial application. |
