Abstract Scope |
Recent studies have identified NiTiHfZrCu as a high-entropy alloy capable of undergoing the reversible B2 ⇆ B19' martensitic transformation, making it promising for shape memory and superelastic applications. This research focuses on the effects of homogenization on two compositions of NiTiHfZrCu to enhance microstructural uniformity and phase stability. Additionally, the impact of aging treatments at 350°C, 450°C, and 550°C on the alloy's phase transformation behavior and hardness is systematically investigated. Aging is particularly significant due to its role in precipitate formation, which can alter transformation temperatures and mechanical properties. Through a combination of thermal analysis, microstructural examination, and hardness testing, this study provides critical insights into how processing conditions influence the performance of these alloys. |
